IRISH  LEGEND

fergus

Many years ago in Ireland an old man called Marbhan wanted to find out about the Táin Bó Cuailnge(the famous Bull of Cuailgne). He asked Senchan about the bull. The leader of the poets gathered all the poets together to see what they knew about the Táin. Some knew bits but no one  knew it all. He said you must find the grave  of someone that could tell them the full story . They searched everywhere but they could not  find anything. They  went to Scotland but could not find anything there either.

They came back to Ireland and told them the bad news. The leader  of the poets  said no one but Fergus Mac Roigh  would know about it. The poets prayed and the leader called on Fergus.Fergus sat for three days and three nights teaching them the story of the story  of the Táin Bó Cuailnge(the bull). The poets went home after Fergus had disappeared thrrough the mist just as he rose.
