Inver National School: Celebrating 125 Years

Tá Scoil Naisiunta an Inbhir ag ceiliuradh a 125 bhreithlá i mbliana. Bhí Aifeann againn agus cóisir mór ar 17 Feabhra; an lá a d'oscail an scoil, 125 bliain ó shin. Inver National School is celebrating its 125th birthday this year. We had a special Mass and party on February 17th; the day the school was open 125 years ago. There are some wonderful events planned for August 2010 and you should re-visit this site regularly to see the list of events as we update them.

2nd August, 2010 Bank Holiday Monday
3.00pm Sports Day on Inver Banks. Children’s races, Novelty Events, Adult Tug O’War, Potato Picking, Bouncy Castle and much more. There will also be a display by the local Pony Club.

Curragh Races will also be held during the afternoon.

4th August, 2010 Wednesday
9.00 pm Social in Inver Community Centre, with refreshments and music provided by Michael S. Togher.

6th August, 2010 Friday Friday
8.00 pm Evening in Inver Community Centre for the under 18's and the young at heart.

7th August, 2010 Saturday
4.00 pm The school will be open to the public and there will be a presentation of memorabilia, artefacts from times gone by, photographs and slide shows on display

. Dr. Seamus Caulfield will give a talk on local history and demographics of the area during the afternoon/evening. This will be of huge interest to many people. The exact time for this event has yet to be arranged.

9.00 pm Inver Reunion Social in the Lighthouse Tavern with music and entertainment

8th August, 2010 Sunday

5.30 pm A plaque will be unveiled to commemorate the past pupils who have died in recent years.
6.00 pm Mass for past-pupils, friends and members of the community at 6.00 pm.

8.30 pm Gala Dinner Dance in the Broadhaven Bay Hotel, Belmullet.Tickets available at €30. These ticket will go on sale in June and are limited.
